Manufacturers or importers of Air Coolers and Air Filters who are dealing in these products must ensure compliance with the relevant Indian Standards and obtain a BIS ISI mark license before selling or distributing their products in the Indian market.
Quality Control Order for Air Cooler and Air Filters
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade), has issued Quality Control Orders (QCOs) to make BIS ISI Mark License mandatory for air coolers and air filters. This Quality Control Order for Air Coolers and Air Filters was published on date 30th January, 2025 by the ministry after consulting the Bureau of Indian Standards.
Short title and commencement-
(1) This Order may be called the Air Cooler and Air Filters (Quality Control) Order, 2025.
(2) It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.

Air Filters for general ventilation- IS 17570 (Part 1): 2021
